Jay Consultant trades empty CO₂ cylinders for India-wide B2B requirements
Jay Consultant purchases and resells new and used empty CO₂ cylinders to industrial buyers across India. The product being traded is the cylinder hardware, not CO₂ gas, refilling or gas-production services.
The gas-service designation (CO₂) is the starting point, not a complete product specification. Buyers should state intended application, condition, quantity, cylinder dimensions or capacity where known, and the delivery destination.

REFERENCE IMAGE · NOT VERIFIED STOCKNew and used CO₂ cylinders are distinct procurement options
New and used CO₂ cylinders are available as sourcing categories, but they are different purchasing propositions. A new item is defined primarily by the manufacturer's model and applicable supplied documents; a used cylinder requires item-specific identification and condition review.
| Purchasing dimension | New cylinder | Used cylinder |
|---|---|---|
| Condition | New item offered against a defined manufacturer/model specification | Previously owned item evaluated for its actual condition |
| Manufacturing identity | Model, producer and traceable markings requested | Original markings and identification checked per item |
| Documents | Applicable BIS/PESO documentation and accompanying paperwork to be described in the quote | Inspection, testing and other records confirmed individually; new-cylinder papers are not presumed |
| Price | Based on model, specification, sourcing and quantity | Also reflects verified condition, history and availability |
| Ordering | 10% booking advance after agreement | Same commercial booking process, subject to accepted quotation |
CO₂ cylinder specifications must match the exact model and use
A suitable CO₂ cylinder cannot be selected by gas name alone. Capacity, pressure, construction, markings, valve connection, intended service, condition and documents have to describe the same proposed product. Where the buyer does not know a value, the requirement should be stated as unknown rather than guessed.
| Attribute | What the buyer should provide or verify |
|---|---|
| Intended gas service | Carbon dioxide |
| Supply state | Empty cylinder hardware; this quotation does not include gas filling |
| Condition | New or used / previously owned |
| Manufacturer and exact model | Name and model identifier, if specified; verify on the particular offer |
| Water capacity / size | Required value and unit; request matching technical information |
| Working and test pressure | Rated values and records applicable to the offered cylinder |
| Cylinder construction / material | Confirmed model specification, including specialised construction if relevant |
| Body dimensions and tare weight | As relevant to storage, mounting and transport |
| Neck thread and valve outlet | Verify against the proposed valve and receiving equipment |
| Physical markings / serial | Identify the particular item or batch |
| Inspection / test history | Discuss what is available for the actual item |
| Quantity and destination | Number of cylinders, delivery city and state |
If you have a previous cylinder's stamped identifiers, model sheet or clear images, describe what the records show in the quotation enquiry. Do not assume colour alone verifies gas-service compatibility.
Manufacturer identity, markings and cylinder condition support product verification
Manufacturer identity and observed markings help distinguish one CO₂ cylinder offer from another. The buyer should ask for the exact producer or brand, model, physical identification and the documents applicable to the offered unit.
Buyers may request Indian or imported manufacturer options. Jay Consultant has named EKC, Rama and Saba among Indian manufacturers and JD and YA among imported options. Any brand, manufacturer identity, country of origin or authorised relationship must be checked against the particular quoted product; these names are not a live stock guarantee.
- Confirm the producer and model against the actual offer, not against a general brand list.
- Request available marking, serial or batch details before accepting a specification.
- For used units, agree what condition images or inspection records will be supplied.
- Check whether quoted valves and caps are included, optional or separate.
CO₂ cylinder prices depend on model, condition, quantity and delivery requirement
An empty CO₂ cylinder quotation depends on the exact manufacturer's model, cylinder condition, technical requirements, order quantity, supply location and transport arrangements. Jay Consultant does not publish a universal price because those variables change the offered product.
| Price input | Commercial effect |
|---|---|
| Model and construction | Different models are not necessarily equivalent |
| New versus used | Condition and evidence affect commercial comparison |
| Quantity | A multi-unit order is quoted against its actual requirements |
| Valves / safety caps | Confirm whether accessories are included or priced separately |
| Delivery city and loading | Carrier and movement arrangements can change landed cost |
Ask for an itemised quotation; no price or availability is implied until the offer is confirmed.
Request a quotationCO₂ cylinder applications require documented suitability for the intended service
Carbon dioxide cylinder requirements arise in different industrial settings, but equipment and compliance needs vary by use. The appropriate offer must be verified against the buyer's application rather than inferred from the gas family name alone.
Welding applications
CO₂ can be used in certain shielding-gas applications. The cylinder and valve configuration must match the particular service.
Beverage or food-related contexts
Buyer requirements may involve application-specific cylinder and documentation checks. An empty industrial cylinder is not automatically approved for every food use.
Other industrial systems
Specify cylinder identification, connection and any specialist operating condition. Fire extinguishers and filled CO₂ supply are different offers.
- Describe the equipment that will use the cylinder.
- State any industry-specific documentation or service requirements.
- Identify the intended valve/connection and receiving equipment.
- Do not assume that an industrial cylinder automatically meets medical, food or other specialised standards.
Valves, safety caps and fittings require model-specific compatibility checks
A CO₂ cylinder and its valve or safety cap are related components, not interchangeable items. Selecting a cylinder does not automatically establish which valve model, inlet thread, outlet connection or cap geometry is correct.
| Component or interface | Compatibility information required |
|---|---|
| Cylinder neck | Actual neck type, thread and manufacturer/model |
| Valve | Gas service, inlet/outlet type and applicable rating |
| Safety cap | Cap fit, protector geometry and fixing method |
| Existing equipment | Receiving fitting, standards and intended operation |
| Order scope | Whether components are included or ordered separately |
New CO₂ cylinder paperwork and used-cylinder inspection records have different scope
Documentation should attach to the particular CO₂ cylinder offer. Jay Consultant states that applicable BIS and PESO paperwork and other documents are supplied for new cylinders; used cylinder records are confirmed separately and should not be assumed to be equivalent.
- New: ask which BIS/PESO records and manufacturer documents apply to the offered model or batch.
- Used: request any available identification, inspection or testing history before accepting the condition.
- Both: match the documents to model, markings, applicable dates and buyer requirements.
- Accessories: verify independent valve/cap documentation and fitment where relevant.

Request a quotationWhich CO₂ cylinder details should be checked before booking?
Before booking CO₂ cylinder hardware, the buyer should compare the proposed specifications and documents with the actual intended service. The final accepted quotation—not the generic category page—defines the purchased model, quantity and terms.
- Confirm that the offer is for EMPTY cylinders, not filled gas.
- Confirm the exact new or used condition and quoted number of units.
- Agree on brand, model, capacity, pressure, marking and compatible accessories, where applicable.
- Check which documents accompany this specific offer and when they can be reviewed.
- Clarify loading, carrier, delivery responsibilities and the target timeline.
- Review the agreed 10% advance, 90% balance and any cancellation or damage conditions.
Each Carbon dioxide (CO₂) cylinder order requires an item-specific engineering specification
For an empty carbon dioxide (co₂) cylinder quotation, provide the intended gas service, required water capacity, construction preference, maximum size, working-pressure requirement, quantity, destination and any mandatory documents. Identify whether the cylinder is new or used, and ask for the actual manufacturer's specification and markings before committing.
- Intended service
- Oxygen, argon, nitrogen, CO₂ or dissolved acetylene; confirm buyer process and gas grade
- Water capacity (L)
- Internal cylinder volume; distinguish from deliverable free-gas volume
- Gas capacity (m³/kg)
- For permanent gases state volume plus reference conditions; CO₂ and DA are commonly specified by mass under defined conditions
- Working / service pressure (bar)
- Check the marked rating and documented permitted service
- Hydrostatic / test pressure
- Verify test pressure and test date from item-level records; not the same as operating pressure
- Height and outside diameter (mm)
- Quote with/without valve and guard; transport envelope depends on fittings
- Weight and wall
- Tare mass (kg), minimum wall, cylinder alloy and manufacturing process
- Shell and base configuration
- Seamless versus welded where permitted; flat/concave base, foot ring, neck ring and guarding
- Valve and cap
- Exact thread, outlet, gas service, material, guard and safety cap compatibility
- Markings and documentation
- Manufacturer, serial, standard, original and periodic test dates; applicable BIS/PESO records
- Used condition checks
- Corrosion, dents, heat/fire damage, base wear, internal condition, ownership and permitted retest status
These fields form an engineering enquiry checklist, not an offer or certification of any particular cylinder. An “empty cylinder” must never be assumed clean, pressure-free, suitable for a different gas or authorised for filling without competent inspection.
CO₂ cylinders require a liquefiable-gas buying specification. Water capacity and net permissible CO₂ charge (kg) are different measures, and the maximum filling ratio and temperature/pressure behaviour must be checked against the selected design and rules. Do not estimate CO₂ delivery using the compressed-permanent-gas formula.
| Attribute | Published third-party example |
|---|---|
| Water capacity | 47 L |
| Cylinder material | Steel |
| CO₂ content | 30 kg |
| Stated example condition | Maximum 80 bar at 27 °C |
This illustrates how water capacity, rated content and pressure appear together on a technical sheet. The example refers to a medical-gas product, not evidence Jay Consultant sells that item. For industrial orders, check the actual applicable IS 3196 / IS 7285 design, tare marking, relief devices, valve and inspection certificate.
Carbon dioxide (CO₂) cylinder design, base geometry and gas capacity require separate checks
Water capacity is the shell’s internal liquid volume in litres, not the amount of oxygen, argon, nitrogen, CO₂ or acetylene available to deliver. For compressed permanent gases, any standard-volume estimate needs the stated gas, filling pressure, temperature and compressibility assumptions. CO₂ and dissolved acetylene use distinct charging calculations and constraints.
Seamless means a continuous pressure shell manufactured without a longitudinal weld where applicable; a welded shell may be a separate allowed cylinder class for particular service. Closed-base configurations may be concave, supported by a foot ring or another approved arrangement. A pressure cylinder is not physically “bottomless”. Confirm the bottom profile, base wear and stability from the specific unit.
Record the standard and edition on the product, not just a generic claim such as “PESO approved”. For Indian high-pressure seamless steel, relevant BIS references include IS 7285 Parts 1/2. For non-LPG liquefiable gas cylinders, IS 3196 Part 2 may apply to the relevant welded-cylinder design. Dissolved acetylene is covered by IS 7312; certain cylinder valves by IS 3224. Only match a standard to a product when its scope and certificate agree.
Official Indian cylinder rules, standards and buyer verification resources
These are independent government or manufacturer references for checking requirements. A link does not mean Jay Consultant holds a licence, makes the goods, is an authorised agent or guarantees a specific item's certification. Rules and applicable standards depend on cylinder type, activity and current amendments.
